Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to common questions
How accurate is the analysis?
Our analysis is based on the data you provide. The more accurate your tool costs and usage information, the more accurate the recommendations. We use industry-standard algorithms to detect overlaps and waste, but you should always review recommendations before making changes.
Is my data secure?
Yes. We use industry-standard encryption, never share your data with third parties, and you can export and delete everything at any time. We only read data from integrations—we never write or modify anything in your connected tools.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
You can export all your data before canceling. After cancellation, you'll move to the free plan (up to 10 tools). Your historical analyses remain accessible, but you won't be able to create new analyses with more than 10 tools.
Can I use this without signing up?
Yes! Try our Quick Stack Check tool for a basic analysis without an account. However, signing up lets you save analyses, track over time, get renewal alerts, and access all features.
How do integrations work?
Integrations connect to your tools (like Stripe, Google Analytics, Slack) to automatically sync usage data and costs. We only read summary data—we never write, modify, or access sensitive information. You can disconnect integrations anytime.
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Free: Up to 10 tools, basic analysis, save analyses. Pro ($19/mo): Unlimited tools, advanced features (ROI tracking, time cost analysis, smart overlap detection), PDF/CSV exports, priority support.
How do I cancel a tool subscription?
We don't cancel subscriptions for you—you need to do that through each tool's website. We help you identify which tools to cancel, but you maintain full control over your subscriptions.
Can I import data from spreadsheets?
Currently, we support manual entry and integrations. CSV import is coming soon. For now, you can copy-paste data or use our integrations to sync automatically.
What if I make a mistake in my analysis?
You can edit any tool at any time. Just click on the tool in your list, update the information, and re-run the analysis. All your saved analyses are editable.
How often should I analyze my stack?
We recommend analyzing quarterly or whenever you add new tools. Set renewal alerts to review tools before they auto-renew. Regular analysis helps catch waste early.
Do you support international currencies?
Currently, we display everything in USD. You can enter costs in any currency, but they'll be converted to USD for analysis. Multi-currency support is coming soon.
Can I use this for personal subscriptions?
Absolutely! Stack Analyzer works for both business and personal software subscriptions. Many users track their personal tools alongside business ones.
Troubleshooting
Solutions to common issues
I can't add more than 10 tools
You're on the free plan, which limits you to 10 tools. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited tools, or remove some tools from your current analysis.
My integration isn't syncing data
Check that the integration is connected in Dashboard > Integrations. Make sure you've granted the necessary permissions. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration.
The analysis seems incorrect
Double-check your tool costs and billing cycles. Make sure monthly costs are accurate—we convert annual costs automatically. Review the tool categories to ensure overlaps are detected correctly.
I can't export my analysis
Export features (PDF/CSV) are available for Pro subscribers. Upgrade to Pro, or use the free plan to view analyses online.
Renewal alerts aren't showing
Make sure you've entered renewal dates for your tools. Go to your tool list and add or update renewal dates. Alerts appear 30 days and 7 days before renewal.
I forgot my password
Click "Forgot password?" on the login page. We'll send you a password reset link via email. Check your spam folder if you don't see it.
